As we have said, we will be shutting down DumpDorrelll.com soon. Our plans are to follow the story of Rick's hiring over the next many days and then end with a few posts that reflect on our history. Dan Guerrero followed through on his promise to hire a proven successful experienced head coach, just as we have been advocating here since we began, and exactly what we advocated in our Daily Bruin ads. A league source tells us in response to our item regarding the potential departure of offensive coordinator Mike Martz in Motown that Martz will be out, and that his potential replacement already has been lined up.
We won't put too much stock into this new report since it doesn't sound like anything more than a rumor. And we know what columnists' rumors are worth. From the FWIW department: Terry Donahue just had a 15 minute interview on AM 570 and said that Rick Neuheisel "is the right coach for UCLA." That was a bit of a shocker. Given the past between the two we fully expected Donahue to support Walker for head coach. He did not, although it wasn't clear what his opinion of Walker was. Donahue did say that "there are other coaches that are right for UCLA too." He said that as if to say that the search process was not complete so RN was not the only coach he'd support.
