Need. We. Say. More.
WTF???!!! There is so much to say, so much that went wrong we don't have enough hours in the day. We will get to it all in a few hours, later tonight, when we get back. Just to let all Bruin football fans know, DumpDorrell will now get into high gear … you can count on that. However, we will save our big campaign for the first Pac-10 loss … after all, Dorrell can still win the conference championship. Will it happen? Not likely, after the disaster we saw today. But our campaign plans are designed to get a lot of attention and we will put them out in full force at the right time - and that is not exactly now.
Will will however carry the message that this is not acceptable, and take it to the media and to the Athletic Department and to the internet. For now, sign up for our email list on the upper right side of the site, and/or sign up for our RSS feed under our logo and to the right in the rightmost column. Get informed of when we launch our campaign so that we can act in force. This was an utter embarrassment … there will be a response!!! More later …
"If we're the team everybody thinks we are, and that we think we can be, this is a game we should win," Bruins cornerback Rodney Van said. "I'm not saying we should win big. I'm not saying it should be a blowout. But this is a game you should take care of. In the back of your mind, you know and everybody knows this is a game we should win."
We will say it for you Rodney, today should be a blow out win. We expect read more
The spread for this week's game is a little on the odd side, as if the betting community doesn't know what to make of the #11 ranked team in the country. The spread opened at UCLA -16 with the over/under at 48. Since then the spread has alternately tightened and widened. -14.5 to -16.5 and th O/U 43.5 to 45. Weird. Here we have a Utah team that has lost all of its playmakers on offense, and some on defense, sporting one of the worst offenses AND worst defenses in the country, after having played no one of significance. On the other side of the ball we have UCLA, stacked with talent and experience and a 2 game winning streak along with a high ranking. What is wrong with this picture?? We simply don't get it.
If you believe the oddsmakers, UCLA will win 32 - 16 or thereabouts. We don't see how read more
This week's Stat of the Week was a little difficult for us. Not because we coudn't find one, but because there were too many. What we look for in the Stat of the Week is the key to victory for us, something in the statistics that will prove to be a deciding factor in the game … a stat that we can watch throughout the game to gauge how our team is doing.
The Stat of the Week for our first game at Stanford was read more
Unlike last year after the poor showing against Rice, this year after the poor against BYU we have an incredibly easy game at Utah to get things working again. We say easy because Utah has stumbled onto what is going to be one of its worst seasons ever. They lost all their key players on offense to injury and that offense, ranked near dead last in the country (107), has gotten in the red zone all of 1 time in 2 games. Their defense is not much better, allowing a nearly 300 yards per game (287) on the ground for near dead last in the country (113). Their passing defense is ranked #4 simply because it's so easy to rush against them. Only 44 passes were thrown against Utah in its first 2 games. In terms of total defense, Utah is ranked #71 in the country.
Think Stanford LAST year. After the Rice game last year, we had to travel to Seattle to play Washington, a bad Washington team but not nearly as bad as Utah. We lost that game in Seattle and that started the losing. We will blow Utah out Saturday, even if it is on the road … so if there will be losing this year it won't start this week. Next week, however, we get to avenge that Washington loss at home against an improved Husky team that is making headlines.
On to the news:
- Our own defense has some work to do. We are ranked #83 in the country in total defense read more
