Update:  Ryan Mallett's mother is saying that her son has not made any decision yet.  Calls reports of his transferring to UCLA false.

Rick Neuheisel has been on a tear.  As we pointed earlier this week, Michigan 5-star freshman QB Ryan Mallett is expected to transfer to UCLA.  There were rumors all day on the boards.  Now, AM 570 just reported that the transfer will happen.  For the rest, we will send you to BruinsNation who has the scoop.  Wow.  UCLA football is exciting again!  Go Bruins!!

BC @ 8:15 pm:

Wow, this is great news. I am catching up on all the news. I have been sick for a week with a flu. Now I am reading the news and this is great stuff. Now Reggie Moore is the new WR coach. Keep it coming Rick.

BC @ 8:17 pm:

I hear the media talking about UCLA in a good way. Then more I think about Rick being the head coach the more excited I am of being a UCLA fan. The excitement is back at UCLA.

Lifelong Bruin fan @ 8:23 pm:

What a difference a week makes! The buzz is back in Westwood! Now if we could only bring in an OC that can fully develop this QB’s talents….(did I hear somebody say Norm Chow?)

Louis @ 8:28 pm:

wow, in less than one week if Mallet does indeed transfer to Ucla. Neuheisel will have as many 5 star player’s as Dorrell had in 5 years. A total of one. I’m certain there will be more 5 star player’s coming out here in the very near future. What a huge difference experience and personality make for a college coach. Pom Pom Pete look out. No wonder you wanted Dorrell to stay. USC is still king of Los Angeles until Ucla cathes up, but at least their is a real chance now instead of the fantasy of an unproven coach. I think UCLA will beat SC next year. Even though the team will be somewhat inexperienced Ucla will still be better than a 6-7 team. I still predict an 8-4 record during the regular season.

BuckeyeBruin @ 10:06 pm:

That’s good news for UCLA and Ohio State–LOL!

Rick (96 Grad) @ 10:23 pm:

Looks like the Trojans are starting to get a bit worried about the rebirth of our program. See this thread about Mallet and the Neu man. Enjoy. http://wearesc.com/forums/showthread.php?p=253302#post253302

Rick (96 Grad) @ 10:25 pm:

alx324 @ 10:38 pm:

WOW! RYAN MALLET HE HAS A CANNON FOR A ARM. THE BRUINS DEPTH IN THE QB POSITION IS NOW JUST AS GOOD IF NOT BETTER THAN ANYONE IN THE NATION. THE BRUINS HAVE FORCIER,MALLET COMING IN ALONG WITH CRISSMAN ALL BACKING UP OLSON AND COWAN. BTW NEUHEISEL BEING AT THE ROSE BOWL WAS FOR ALL THE RECRUITS TO SEE. HE STOLE THE STOLE THE SPOTLIGHT. NO DOUBT THAT PLAYED A PART IN MALLET COMING TO WESTWOOD.

alx324 @ 10:39 pm:

SORRY FOR THE ERROR

UCLABRU1 @ 10:53 pm:

I think alumi, students, and anyone associated with UCLA shoud be pushing Norm Chow. I personally will be contributing financially to UCLA as I know A lot of other people will if we can make our offense explosive. It’s on its way there, and Coach Neuheisel has been taking all the right steps. The way he’s playing the media and outshined $UC at OUR stadium was beautiful. Keep it going Rick. Lets get Chow!!!!

Andre @ 1:00 am:

DD….it is time for this site to shut down. All that is left to comment is a bunch of clueless dreamers. Most of these nutcakes were dead set against Neuheisel in favor of Chow for head coach. Now, they all want to make it sound as if they’ve been for Neuheisel from the start. Except, they can’t get Chow out of their heads. This is sad.

Tommy Bruin @ 1:25 am:

Andre - are you off your medication again?

Andre @ 8:29 am:

Tommy….No meds needed. I’m not the guy who was on here begging DG to hire June Jones or Mike Leach. Just think, when Chow doesn’t get hired, you’ll be 0 for 3. Is it difficult coming out of that Xanax induced dreamstate you’re in?

Louis @ 9:48 am:

Andre; your a bummer dude. Everyone finally has something to be excited about after 9 years. Go with it man,or got outta of the way. UCLA football is back!

Tom @ 9:49 am:

I’m a Hardcore Bruin Fan first, and a Michigan fan second…So it seems like a win win situation for me! At least he didn’t go to SCum or the Luckeyes!!!

Louis @ 10:11 am:

Hey Andre; I’ll bet you always see the glass half empty instead of half full. Your probably the kind of person that would be pissed off about paying taxes after winning millions of dollars. You are the only one who appears to be upset that Rick Neuheisel is pushing all the right buttons so far in less than a week. Tell the truth, your really a USC fan or a bitter Washington graduate. Which is it? You can tell us. We won’t get mad. There-there, it will be alright!

Andre @ 10:33 am:

Louis….Wasn’t it you that was so “pissed off” when guys started talking about wanting “that traitor” Ke Norton,Jr. back at Ucla? Hmmm, but its okay to mortgage the program to get Chow, as if Chow is some magical elixir? Louis, clue for ya. Chow coached at that school across town that you were so “pissed off” at Ken Norton for.

Louis @ 10:46 am:

Andre, I’m pissed off at Ken Norton because he was a Ucla player and he coaches at SC. Chow never played here. There is a difference. I still don’t want Norton to comeback and never will. He is a traitor. Chow isn’t a magical elixir, but he is probably the best OC ever!

mike @ 12:21 pm:

Louis, why would you be mad at Norton. He wanted to get into coaching and choose his alma mater 1st. Duhrell did not hire him. He was then given an opportunity to coach at a top notch program. It would have been dumb for him not to take it. I have no idea of how good a coach he is, so I will not comment on that, but it is certainly not his fault that his school did not give him a chance. Neu coached at washington, so what? That is where he was given a chance.
