Rick Neuheisel To End His Career Bruin Coach
In case there was any doubt Rick Neuheisel dreamed of the job he now has, Jill Painter Daily News reports the following:
Rick Neuheisel is back in Los Angeles coaching his alma mater. He was coach at Colorado and Washington before a two-year stint at a Seattle high school and a three-year stint with the Baltimore Ravens. He wants to retire a Bruin.
“Hopefully, this is the last coaching job I'll have,'' Neuheisel said.
Does anyone think any other potential candidate would have said that?? We are lucky … we have 2 head coaches of our big-time programs in basketball and now football who both have their dream jobs. Hallelujah!! Go Bruins!!

Yes, the fact that he will never want to leave UCLA is one of the four reasons why Rick was exactly the right choice. Besides his potential longevity the other three are:
1. As an alum and former player he loves UCLA and is tremendously motivated to succeed. He will put his heart and soul into this.
2. He had the best record of any coach being considered, because he has already been very successful in two BCS conferences including the Pac 10.
3. He has a dynamic personality and will be successful as a recruiter and will also energize the whole UCLA fan base the latter of which is already happening.
Rick Neuheisel, absolutely a fantastic hire by UCLA.
