New Replacement Poll Round #3

Note: Since Bellotti is out, here is the same poll as the one we put up minutes ago without Bellotti on it.

Alright … the past 24 hours has changed the landscape a bit with the dramatic announcments. There are serious decisions to make soon. The discussion has become more passionate. So now we are going to ask you to name THE CHOICE you would have Dan Guerrero make for our next head coach. Keep in mind, Morgan Center staffers get our daily email. Let them know who you want.

We are putting down only the names that have been named as candidates at one point or another by media reports (no Hill, Spurrier). We are eliminating names who have eliminated themselves (Chow, Peterson, Bellotti). And we are only including the top vote getters in our Round 2 poll (no Kelly, Mariucci, Mora Jr., Bowden). That leaves the candidates you see below. You can vote only once, choose only 1 candidate, and we will hide the results until later tonight.

Griffin 1 @ 1:41 pm:

I would not take down Chris Petersen. With Mike B staying at Oregon and Jim Mora Jr. the heir apparent at UW, where is CP’s dream job? I think after his bowl game Sunday we will see CP and DG meeting. This isn’t a rumor or from some hidden source. This is just my opinion. I think DG has his list (see MB) and then there are second and third tier options such as RN, AG and DW.

common scense @ 2:42 pm:

My reliable sources now tell me that DG has been spotted in South Bend Indiana not far from the Notre Dame campus. DG had a meeting with none other than Knute Rockne. I’m told that DG did most of the talking and Rockne is seriosly considering a second interview. “At this time all interviews must take place here at my grave site”, said an exuberant Rockne. Rockne, who does not have an agent, will consult with Walt Disney, and major league baseball great Ted Williams, on the possibility of comming back from the dead. “I think I would be a great match for UCLA since the last coach they had didn’t have much life in him,” said a now confident Rockne.

bones @ 2:43 pm:

I still like DeWayne Walker for HC. But Neuheisel/Walker combination would be fine too.

Tom @ 2:48 pm:

I don’t believe in “reliable sources’ news anymore.

John W. Reagan @ 2:57 pm:

Common Sense: Love the Knute Rockne reference. Bellotti got the pay raise he was looking for, and in the process he helped the Bruins help themselves to look foolish, AGAIN! DG needs to grow a set and do what everyone wants. HIRE RICK NEUHEISEL TODAY!!! This is a no brainer.

Steve @ 4:25 pm:

ToDD:Why did Bellotti turn us down?

Steve

Ticked @ 5:50 pm:

Everyone who likes RN needs to send Ed Cunningham of ESPN a sizzling E-Mail after his bull shit episode on the air a little while agao.

Bay Area Bruin @ 6:28 pm:

When are the poll results going to be available? When is DD going to reveal their choice for HC?

Caldwell Williams, '57 @ 6:30 pm:

Looking for clear, simple data? NEUHEISEL 4 - BELLOTTI 1!

Go Bruins! Hire Bruin!

BruinBuddy @ 7:03 pm:

Just a thought, what if Rick gets fed up with the BS and turns down DG to be the coach? Will DG be looking to Chuck Long down at San Diego State next? Guerrero might like Chuck because he is as tall that Olson.

Drive safely this weekend.

David75 @ 7:04 pm:

Bellotti was all set to come to UCLA. He was ready to escape the negative press in Oregon and then that ass-clown bastardo TJ Simers wrote in today’s LA Times mocking Bellotti’s wife for attacking a reporter and the 2 DUI’s suffered by Bellotti’s son. Next thing you know, Bellotti says no to UCLA. Do I think Slimers has any real influence? No, not really but I think we should run the idiot outta town. He makes jokes that are not funny and is a horrible excuse for a sportswriter.

BruinBuddy @ 7:10 pm:

TJ Simers needs to burn in hell for his sins. It would be only just that his son in law run him over while driving an old Gremlin/

John W. Reagan @ 7:56 pm:

Bellotti was never coming to UCLA. This was just his way of getting a few more Nike bucks at our expense. DG was and is a fool. I hope the administration announces that Rick Neuheisel is our new head coach immediately following our Las Vegas bowl loss to BYU.

VA Bruin @ 8:35 pm:

Other than the affection afforded an alumnus, I still do not understand why Neuheisel would be a good hire. He had only one remarkable season at Washington, and I fail to see any real positive from his time working with Brian Billick in the miserable Baltimore offense. Seriously, can someone please explain to me why this would be a hire to get excited about?

(not that I’m any more excited by the prospect of a Walker hire, mind you)

stephen Davanis @ 12:00 pm:

First of all, don’t get me wrong. I am a Rick N. fan. I think he would be great for the Bruins, but how come no one has mentioned Ken Norton Jr. as a possible choice for HC?
Former Bruin great, 3 Super Bowl Rings as a player, and we know what he has done across town as linebacker coach. And talk about excitement. Might be worth considering.

mme38 @ 1:06 pm:

You ARE kidding, right Davanis???….no really…you are kidding….RIGHT?!

David75 @ 5:47 pm:

No he wasn’t kidding! Some fool commentator at CSTV said the same thing! There are just too many uninformed analysts out there. And to settle for the Slickster is the cry of a desparate nation. We can do better. Wait till the smoke clears after the major bowls and if we still can’t get a dream hire, guess who will be still waiting? Yes, the Slickster.

RISE UP @ 6:10 pm:

Hey BuckeyeBruin , do you have gear on ? The game is about to start.
