Javier @ 8:26 pm:

I can’t wait to hear what DD has to say. Please make it clear that the effect of UCLA losing are starting to affect our recruits. Here we go.

Javier @ 8:36 pm:

Great job on the radio. You pin pointed the problems with KD. Will see what happens.

DumpDorrell @ 9:01 pm:

Javier .. Thanks .. not one of the best interviews we’ve done but after a long day we’ll take it. For us, its all about getting the word out so that we can get our program on the right track. Anything and everything we do helps.

Valencia Bruin @ 9:38 pm:

Neuheisel / Howland - Someone please enlighten me as to how these to guys wouldn’t put the Bruins on top of the money generating sports world. Neuheisel would put 90,000 in the stadium, and Howland is certainly doing his job. Mr. AD - please investigate.

Javier
Your right in the fact recruits are gonna start jumping ship. Papers report we lost one today (granted he had GPA issues), but this will start a snow ball effect. Who’s next? It’s gonna continue too…watch UCLA’s so called recruiting class dwindle to several 3 star players at best. We’re going nowhere…we’ll continue to be “3 star” when we can be “5 star”. Worst thing is there are so many 5 star players in our backyard, and we can’t get ‘em because we are a basketball school.

Anyone want my season tickets?

LA_Eagle786 @ 10:30 pm:

I’m interested in the coaching candidate DD has been in contact with.

I’m not going to ask who… even though I’m intrigued. Good to see you guys care about this as I do. I want CTS fired ASAP

DumpDorrell @ 10:34 pm:

LA Eagle … there is DEFINITE interest out there in the coaching ranks in UCLA’s HC position. It’s obviously not for everyone, but we don’t want just anyone either. People know that UCLA is a jewel .. with a little shine the job can be priceless. There are great experienced successful coaches out there that KNOW this. All it takes is an AD and administration that is willing to make the commitment to excellence. That is all. If we dont see it this year then we are either going after DG, which admittedly is near impossible right now, or we are done with UCLA football, joining many others. Lets hope DG steps up and makes a historic commitment, it wont take much.

LA_Eagle786 @ 10:47 pm:

But are they aware of the hurdles coaches have to pass through aka the UCLA Admissions Offices?

If so, COME ON DOWN said future coach of the UCLA Bruins

Diego @ 11:07 pm:

DAMN!! I missed the radio show tonight. I had a soccer match and am just now makig it home. How did it go? Well done, guys. I constantly call The Joe MacDonald show during UCLA seasons (bball and Fball). I’m sorry I missed it, but I’m sure you guys did quite well. I hope you’ll be back on, too.

StumblingCat @ 11:42 pm:

Guys,

Nice work on the dumpdorrell.com site. I can feel your pain, as a UA alum, we have by far the worst AD in the pac-10 and have had to watch as our once respectable football program is taken to the absolute depths of the pac-10. With that said, you guys should be in the top three of the conference every year. You have a beautiful campus, a great recruiting base, a great school academically. For whatever reasons, there has been an inconsistency not just with Dorrell, and he’s bad, I know, I see the scores. But Toledo was just barely a cut above him and frankly, Terry Donohue underachieved as well, in my opinion.

UCLA should have at least one NC in football in the past 30 years, based mostly on the abundant talent in southern California and USC’s mediocrity for a good chunk of the 80’s and 90’s.

It would be interesting to see Terry Bowden at UCLA, he had a great record at Auburn, and I could see him excelling with the present talent. Of course you are in the same boat the UA is in, a bunch of the returning talent is graduating after this year.

Well, cheer up, it could be worse, you could have Mike Stoops as your HC and Jim Livengood as your AD. Not a worse combination in the country.

Cheers to UCLA sending Karl back to the ranks as an OC.

Good luck guys!

Valencia Bruin,

Sure, I’ll take those season tickets.

LAEagle,

Well, ND, as their fans like to point out, also have difficult admissions. But, they’ve gotten three consecutive recruiting classes ranked in the top ten including this year’s class which is considered to be the best in the nation so far.
