Dump Dorrell

Vegas Line: Washington State +5.5 ~ +6.0

Vegas bookmakers opened up the line on the Wazzu game in Pullman today at UCLA favored +8.5.  But during the week that line tightened to +6 across the board. Only this morning did the line tighten even more in at least one book to +5.5.   So betters have yet again gone against the opening line when UCLA is favored.  Dorrell's troubles with Wazzu and on the road and against lesser opponents are well documented.  Bettors are weary of his record against the spread as well.  We see this ending up with a win by a much wider margin as we have said.  Go Bruins!!

OutOThsWrld @ 4:36 pm:

Here we go again. UCLA is already slipping in the first quarter. Started with Bell’s injury and then Markey’s fumble. Down 10-7 in the first quarter and not stopping WSU’s offense.

Terence @ 5:09 pm:

and now a missed field goal…a blocked punt…and now washington st driving…

BruinOC @ 5:20 pm:

Ok….
I honestly believe that this team is not doomed to complete failure with Cowan at QB…say or think what you will, but Cowan will leave everything out on the field.

2nd Half: we’ll all see what KD is made from…can he change the direction this game is going…can they (KD/JN) make the ‘offensive’ adjustments that are needed?

Let the 2nd half begin!!!

Go Bruins!!!

Terence @ 5:25 pm:

I think Cowan is fine…he’s definitely a fighter and I think he’s the best for the job right now. I’ve been a strong supporter of Olson for the past couple years, but I just don’t think he’s getting better. Anyway, the real problem is Dorrell.

Terence @ 5:26 pm:

Looks the defense is picking up. Those injuries to Breazel and Bell are gonna hurt though. Let’s see if we can pick it up in the 2nd half.

OutOThsWrld @ 6:09 pm:

Well, it’s now the 2nd half and I don’t see any change in the game except the score. WSU leads now late in the 3rd quarter 13-7.

georgereyes @ 6:46 pm:

I have been watching the OSU/PSU in between plays. I am amazed by how prepared OSU is for this game. They are playing in hostile territory and play every down as if it is their last. Please DG, give KD the boot. Make him walk home from WSU.

EDbruin @ 6:50 pm:

I couldn’t watch the rest of the game because it was too painful. This chump has got to go. Losing to WSU? I’ll take the loss if it means shoving KD through the backdoor.

Jim @ 6:59 pm:

Karl Dorrell just got fired. DG will release KD of his duties on Monday and the backstabber will be named as interim Head Coach.

Mark @ 7:03 pm:

Mr. Guerrero…UCLA students and alumni all deserve a chance to cheer for a team that is well coached and prepared to play our Pac-10 competition. The players deserve better than the preparation and coaching they have received under the current staff and we need you to make a change now so the future of UCLA football can be realized.

Terence @ 7:06 pm:

Embarrassing….here we go again, we’re going to lose 4 out of 5 of our final games, maybe even all of them. IS IT FINALLY TIME TO GET RID OF DORRELL?

Class_of _82 @ 7:09 pm:

Inconsistency = poor coaching. Anyone notive that WSU was playing at an altogether different speed than the Bruins? The UCLA family deserves better.

whp '68 @ 7:10 pm:

“..Karl Dorrell just got fired. DG will release KD of his duties..”

..if only it were true.

Joe Bruin @ 7:14 pm:

wow…dorrell is DONE. what a horrible horrible job. pitiful. im disgusted with our offensive. it just demoralizes our defense. what is wrong with cowan? can he throw a ball on target ever? my goodness, no one around him and he is just off the mark. damn. to lose to these 3 teams….its time for him to go. NOW. i dont want to see him out there anymore.

MarcoTheBruin @ 7:14 pm:

Dorrell clinched his $2 million buyout! Let the suggestions for a replacement begin…

Ronnie Walker @ 7:15 pm:

wow, again, we got OUT COACHED. f#@*!! and got our A$$ Kicked! We need to make that change, get rid of the man in the mirror.

Bruin2000 @ 7:16 pm:

I can’t believe we lost again. OK..One of our backs was injured. But, no backup plan. Dorrell can’t adjust for sh*T. He has a game plan and he cant make adjustments when he’s derailed from his game plan. It pisses me off. USC lost and we had a good chance to move up in the Pac-10. Fire Dorrell. His playing calling stinks and he cant make the needed adjustments during a game. UCLA deserves better.

Bill @ 7:17 pm:

Ken Norton Jr, give him a call, he was stiffed by Dorrell.

Bill @ 7:19 pm:

Dorrell can’t coach in the easy games.

Ric @ 7:22pm @ 7:21 pm:

Dear DG, either KD goes or my season tickets go. I’m sure I am not alone in my sentiments.

NOMOREKD @ 7:21 pm:

Maybe we should play ranked teams all the time. I think that’s the only time KD has his team ready. Maybe all along it was the players that were pumped up and play to for KD. We know KD doesn’t have the Bruins ready for game day. What excuse does he have now? Let him go.

Eddie Ayers @ 7:25 pm:

Yeah Norton would be great. he would come over if Dorrell was gone. He took the SC job because it was offerred to him but his heart is probably at UCLA. But Dorrell needs to go.

Chris @ 7:28 pm:

Hey Bruin fans, flood Guerrero’s email in box with calls to fire Dorrell and save our season!!

dguerrero@athletics.ucla.edu

Bye bye Rose Bowl @ 7:28 pm:

This should of been an easy win. Up next. Arizona St., Oregon, & USC. Might not make a bowl this year. A promising season down the drain.

kd sucks @ 7:39 pm:

KD SUCKS WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO SAY

Ric @ 7:43 pm:

Let’s have the solid gold sounds of the UCLA Marching Band play the song “We’re Not Gonna Take It Anymore” in front of Guerrero’s office door on Monday morning, maybe this way he will get the message. Another embarrassing loss.

MichaelKay @ 7:49 pm:

Well DG - I guess now your hindsight says you should have kept Toledo who had a winning record when you let him go - only to replace him with a coach with no experience or driving leadership and real desire.

Time to make a move and find a class coach for a class program

Bulldogs 4 Bruins @ 7:56 pm:

Duh-Rell and GO-rero both need to be gone! Even a blind hog can stumble on an acorn…so what if he he found Ben Howland….what has he doen for me today? Let’s get in to reality, the AD is giving his friend a payback, if this was the corporate world, the share holders would have goten rid of both of them for not meeting earnings. By the way…Pat Hill is on thin ice too!

Joe Bruin @ 8:06 pm:

bulldogs…shut up. calling for dans head is idiotic. this is the same guy who brought in howland, and u are gonna say what have u done for me today? YOU? who the hell are you? fans like you make me SICK.

anyway tho…im officially done with dorrell. im not convinced 100% that he has to go. i know we had big injuries this game, but….losing to the teams we lost to…..i cant deal with that. i cant deal with the inconsistent play. just disgusting. if we play hard and lose, im okay with that. then maybe the better team won. but when we play like we dont know what we are doing, and it looks like we arent really even in the game mentally….then its time for the coach to go.

Bam Bam @ 8:18 pm:

Karl is brutal! Simply Brutal. No reason UCLA cannot be a top ten team every year with it’s acedemics, location and history. No I am not a racist but is Karl for having black coaches and his pathetic braclets aka jewelry on the field preaching to win when Karl himself is not a true winner in any game that he is supposed to win. He got lucky at Cal and Washington State, Utah and Notre Dame show what type of coach Karl is…… Pathetic and sad to call myself a UCLA Allumni after seeing him coach his way to another failure. Cut off the braclets, no blaming the officials, maybe coach for once and get some balls instead of going run run pass punt? I am no genius but, this should be a win game no matter who was at running back or quarterback…..

Bam

Diego @ 8:18 pm:

Well, it looks like more of the same. It was so tough to watch, bcause after a certain point, I found myself not hurting from big gains from the WAzzu players. When Wazzu scored the last two touchdowns, they did’nt hurt. Iw as numb to it all, and simply accepted that we’re going to have to lose to have KD fired.

I was glad to see Pat Cowan exposed. I know that we play better when he’s in there. I know that the players like him and give more effort when he’s in there. I know that he can scramble and usually makes things happen, but I believe him to be the symbol of why UCLA is what it is. Like UCLA, Cowan is a lie. He’s an HIGHLY inaccurate QB that has no arm, low Football IQ and goes out there to improvise. Somes times the improvisations work fo rhim, and other times they don’t, like today. Ben is a way better QB, but the problem is that BEn isn’t an offense that’s suited for his skill sets. Ben failure is at KD’s feet, who insists on running a west coast offense that simply doesn’t work in the college game, and is beyond the grasp of his highly recruited QB. Rather than mold an offense around Ben, he forces the offense down everyone’s throats. The reason he does this is because he doesn’t know what else to do. He can’t design a new offense, becuase he doesn’t know any other offense.

honokeana @ 8:26 pm:

why is pat hill on thin ice now?

Scan @ 8:39 pm:

DG has to pull the trigger and get rid of Dorrell. This is unacceptable.

Valencia Bruin @ 8:40 pm:

Diego, I think you’re right on the money. Although, I’d not hound on Cowan too much cause the guy just leaves it on the field. I’ve been an Olsen basher, but I do also believe he’s in the wrong offense. I also think he’s too old to meld with the players on the team.
Bottom line…UCLA doesn’t have the overall talent, has a coach who’s in over his head, running an offense that’s too complex for college kids, and we really don’t have quality skill players (which is why they’re running the west coast offense in order to mask it). Only problem is, the west coast offense is too complex. It’s very ugly, and has been ugly for a number of years now. We’re a joke on the national scene, and saddled amid the best recruiting grounds in the country. Absolutely disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!!

dana @ 8:41 pm:

Not a surprise at all…

But, watch out, UCLA will now beat Oregon State and SC ;)

MichaelKay @ 8:44 pm:

DANA:

WAKE-UP.

Valencia Bruin @ 8:45 pm:

Dana,
please don’t go to Vegas!

NWBruin @ 8:56 pm:

You are probably correct, but only if the Bruins are NOT favored…

rosie @ 9:48 pm:

Karl dumb-shit dorrell needs to be fired, he has failed to get the team prepared week in and week out. Due to his lack of coaching and motivation the bruins constantly play down the their oppents. Watching Dorrell on the side line makes me want to throw up, he looks like a lost sheep. On the few occasins that he does get mad no one listens because they know he is just doing it to please us, his critics. Instead of hiring idiot dorrell we should have gone after a real coach like steve spurrior, but what does guerro do, he hires an unproven ex-alumni!. Pat Hill would look nice on our sideline!

Rich @ 10:09 pm:

Anyone out there know where I can get a dump dorrell t-shirt? I saw a few at the rose bowl last week. I encourage everyone to wear one at the ASU game in two weeks. What I saw today was shameful.

horror show @ 10:19 pm:

i think he has got to go as well. at this point sadly we need to lose. a 6-6 finish is feasible. but who buys out the contract?

horror show @ 10:22 pm:

at this point i’d rather have Lavin coaching our football team

Wayne M. Cutler @ 10:29 pm:

Toledo only won with Donahue’s recruits, i.e. McKnown, Farmer, etc. Toledo might be a good offensive coordinator but he is definitely not a head coach. Bet he doesn’t last wherever he is the head coach. UCLA has to hire a quality head coach and pay him! I’m really believe that UCLA’s last outstanding coach was Dick Vermeil. Maybe we can bring him back.

Wayne

dsc110 @ 10:34 pm:

i say we should try and get marty schottenheimer next season. look at the wonders that dennis erickson is doing with arizona state

nick the greek @ 10:48 pm:

Karl did not want to accept Kenny Norton Jr.’s help to coach UCLA linebackers because as he said to the LA Time, Kenny had no coaching experience……what a joke…….he only has three superbowl rings…..

TommyBruin @ 11:37 pm:

Fire this piece of shit. No more excuses. No more BS. Fire his ass, NOW!

Jim @ 11:47 pm:

Enough is enough!! The pattern is obvious. Play well against the good teams, stink up the joint against the lousy teams. We just got beat by a bunch of country bumkins from the Northwest. Embarrasing is not the word. How about humiliating. Dorrell has got to go but no, UCLA is all about doing the politically correct thing. They won’t fire a black man because they don’t want the firestorm of publicity. I don’t care if is he’s black, white, yellow, blue or purple. He has not done his job. This man cannot coach football period. The team obviously mirrors the coach. His lackadasical demeanor is rubbing off on these young kids-especially when they play the teams they should beat. Football is a physical sport and needs to be coached by an assertive, agressive and in-your-face personality. Remember Woody Hayes? Dump Dorrell before it is too late.

October 28, 2007

Lockpicker @ 12:05 am:

This is just unbelievable that we have to sit through this kind of garbage. I’d have fired KD at the end of the third quarter of the “Upset in Utah”. Anybody out there in favor of bringing back home Rick Neuheisel?

gd151 @ 12:59 am:

I honestly expected this loss, Dorrell can not coach this team, and the funny thing is the fans at UCLA are always right about this, look at when they finally got rid of sorry ass lavin and got a real coach. Erickson would have this team undefeated for sure, and I am sure alot of other coaches would to. dorrell should be lynched.

whp '68 @ 1:22 am:

“This should of been an easy win. Up next. Arizona St., Oregon, & USC. Might not make a bowl this year. A promising season down the drain..”

We will go 6-5 (beat Arizona, lose to Oregon, and have our head handed to us by USC). We will go to the Pep Boys’ Ball-Bearing Bowl (i.e., so low on the order of bowls, that it is played 20 minutes after the last game of the season) and Dorrell, facing Ground Hog State A&M Teachers’ College, will be out-coached and run his record bowl record to 1-5.

Hey, as long as we’re talking about the inability to prepare and motivate a team, let’s have a resounding round of applause for the effort Dorrell’s staff did with that offense: more dropped passes than an old maid at a taxi-dance. Oh, and didn’t they respond magnificently after that truly incredible goal-line stand? I mean, your “D” just holds the other team for three downs inside the 1-yard line and then blocks a field goal so you show them how much you appreciate it by going three-and-out?

In-f***ing-credible!

Diego @ 2:08 am:

Footnote to all of our griping should be that we cannot, CANNOT HAVE DWAYNE Walker be a viable replacement. I’m not sure what the position of most of you here is, I think I may have read where the DumpDorrell organizers liked the idea of Dwayne Walker as HC. I like the idea of giving him teh team the rest of the year, and removing Kd from his duties, but NOT TO GIVE HIM THE position out-right. WAlker is a JOKE, too. He’s another guy that doesn’t have the experience required. Yes, this guy did all sort of impressive work as a Defensive coordinator in the NFL, but he’s not a college coach. You have to know the college game. You have to know how to adapt to it and how to use it to your advantage. one of KD’s and DW’s flaws is that they fail to accept the fact that they’re not in the pros and they should resemble more college sets.

I watched Bruin Rewind on Fox Sports after the Utah game. When UTAH tok the lead on us early, D.Walker sat his defense down and told them to relax and that they expected Utah to be running these trick plays. TRICK PLAYS?!??!?!? I thought to myself, what trick plays?? I didn’t see any trick plays. Well, there really weren’t trick plays, there were regular, college offensive plays, but NOT trick plays. To D. Walker, though, he thought they were trick plays, becuase his experience is only NFL. He only sees regular, straight forward, pro-style sets. That’s how the NFL is, but that doesn’t mean that UTAH, because they didn’t resemble pro offenses, were running trick plays.

I DON’T WANT SOMEONE THIS DEVOID OF KNOWLEDGE RUNNING MY SCHOOL’S TEAM! NEVER!!! Forget about having DW be any sort of viable replacement for KD. Every time you guys write to Chancellor Block and to Dan Guerrero, please MAKE SURE you write that you will NOT settle for Dwayne Walker as Head Coach.

DumpDorrell @ 2:24 am:

Diego … we at DD have said a million times that we do not want inexperience at the head coaching position, and that would include DeWayne Walker. We DO NOT WANT Walker as our next head coach.

Jess @ 3:36 am:

I hope we lose every game from here on out. I would LOVE to win, but winning only brews some sense of false hope in Dorrell’s pathetic coaching. The guy had a 7-6 record last season and still has a job. Why? Probably because that SC win overshadowed all the other miserable losses. Coaches have been fired for having 9-3 seasons, yet this pile of crap is STILL coaching for us?

There needs to be no justifications for even considering keeping Dorrell as coach. None of this, oh he lost to ND but he beat Cal. Oh he lost to Wazzu but he beat ASU. That’s settling for mediocrity, and UCLA is better than that.

Jeff @ 4:57 am:

Dump dorrell and guerrero.

Del @ 5:12 am:

Ok….I was wrong. Dump Dorrell, the time is now after the “PULLMAN EXERIANCE”

Brent @ 6:38 am:

5 years and nothing to show for it. Time to pay the $2 million and send him back to the obscurity from which he came.

SD Bruin @ 7:44 am:

Dorrell needed to be fired last year and nothing has changed. He is the Steve Lavin of college football. Inexperienced and unable to demonstrate any consistency. Sure, he will win a big game like Lavin and save his job another week, but the guy is in his fifth year and nothing has changed. The question I always ask those non-Bruin fans who say Dorrell is not that bad is this- If Dorrell was to be fired, whould another BCS conference team hire him? Absolutely not. Did Lavin get another coaching job? No. Would Dorrell have another head coaching job? No. We deserve better than Dorrell. I’m sure Dorrell is a wonderful man and I wish him well, I just don’t want him on the sidelines ever again.

Lee @ 7:48 am:

DG got what he paid for. Time to open the wallet and get a HC who knows what he’s doing.

Bulldogs 4 Bruins @ 8:00 am:

Hey Joe, calm down and take a chill pill. I have been a fan of this team going back to the 60’s, yeah I am that old. That being said I respect your passion for the Bruins, please respect mine. We both want a good program.

That being said, I acknowledged the Howland hiring, but, the fact is Guererro is allowing his personal friendship to keep him from making an objective decision when it comes to what to do with Karl Dorrell. It is unfortunate when you look at continued lack of preparation by his teams. Things will not always go to as planned during a game, so there should be some alternatives in case of things like injuries and such. With this head coach, after plan A, there is no other plan.

Last add about the AD, if he does not show some movement, the boosters and alum will provide him plenty of continued motivation.

Darryl @ 8:12 am:

Good grief. Just when I thought we were turning the corner…we get this pathetic display. I have given up on this season. I could care less if they run the table (which they won’t - did you see Oregon?).

KD, please just resign and let the healing begin.

whp '68 @ 8:15 am:

“UCLA beat UCLA. We didn’t execute as an offense…The plays were good. Deverything was good. We just didn’t execute. That was us — 100 per cent us. The didn’t do anythig to stop us, we stopped ourselves…”

With all our losses, UCLA beat UCLA. UCLA is our biggest opponent..”

- Shannon Tevaga, senor guard.

Here are some interesting numbers:

(1) Washington State was ranked 100th in the nation in total defense coming into last night’s game.

(2) WSU ran 98 plays to UCLA’s 65.

(3) WSU had the ball for 38 minutes while UCLA had it for only 22:00 minutes; the UCLA defense was on the field for 2/3rds of the game.

(4) You subtract Bell’s 50-yard run and UCLA had 217 yards total offense for the game.

Valencia Bruin @ 8:21 am:

Lockpicker, read my blog from a few days ago. Neuheisel all the way

Kurt @ 8:36 am:

Enough. Every time I see Dorrell, I feel the same level of dismay and frustration I did during the debacle known as the Lavin years. The similarities between Lavin’s teams and Dorrell’s teams are pervasive, including:

1) He repeatedly not only loses games UCLA should win to inferior opponents, but gets blown out — anyone remeber Cal State Northridge;
2) There is no semblance of an offensive game-plan — this was a real Lavin hallmark that Dorrell has taken to new levels;
3) When UCLA does win, it is not because of coaching, but simply because of superior talent;
4) The team never progresses from one week to the next, never gets better as the season goes forward, as evidenced by Dorrell’s horrific November records;
5) So often, the team fails to even compete, and neither coach ever heard of in-game adjustments — again real Lavin hallmarks;
6) When asked about the ineptness, Dorrell always relies on Lavin 101 — tired and failed cliches;
7) Dorrell, much like Lavin, is in over his head, and the recruits will take notice. Indeed, the talent drop-off from even Toledo’s worse team on the offensive side is dramatic;
8) And when public sentiment has solidified towards the right result — a coaching change — somehow, someway, both find a way to improbably win a game they should not. See Lavin’s Sweet 16 runs, and Dorrell’s wins vs. USC last year, and Cal this year.
9) Lavin’s teams, despite lots of talent, never seriously contended for a Pac-10 title (except for Lavin’s first year), same as Dorrell’s teams.

At UCLA, we must have expectations of excellence, which at a minimum, includes being competitive for conference championships, year in and year out. We are a University with champions in every sport, and football should be no different.

As was true at the end of the Lavin years, I cannot stand to watch my proud University be ridiculed and laughed at because we are so maddeningly unpredictable. While I respect Mr. Dorrell as a person, he is simply not performing, and the time is now for change. As he did with our basketball program, Guerrero must be decisive, and liberate us, the Bruin faithful. It is time.

Joe Bruin from Daimond Bar @ 8:43 am:

The sad truth is that the harm be done by this x-Bruin to our football program is extensive. The repercussions will be long felt. As many of us know, we are the joke of big time college football. Kids will stay away from our beautiful campus so as to avoid being the butt of “their” jokes. We best fix this problem today / now.

Let’s find a coach who can teach, motivate and instill pride in our players. We need a coach who is enthusiastic about football and for winning. We need a coach who loves to fight. Yes, we need a good coach for our Bruin Football program. Until we find this good coach, let’s put Coach K in charge. Heck, he has a perfect record at 1-0 and we all know that he is enthusiastic. When he waves that big towel in circles I see the boys respond well.

By the way have you noticed how the other guy greets our players? He shakes their hands. How pathetic is that?
Joe Bruin, out.

Joe Bruin @ 9:57 am:

bulldog i can respect passion, what i cant respect is the “what have you done for me lately” attitude you have towards our AD. your words, not mine. that is completely unacceptable and what is completely wrong with sports right now. fans all want everyone else to be perfect but what have YOU done perfect? now, we all admit that KD isnt the man for the job, its pretty clear now….but to diss our AD when he also brought in Howland is pretty stupid. everyone cant be 100% all the time. and the KD situation is more delicate than just friendship. Race does play a factor….as well it should. Even tho KD the person isnt the right man for the job, it hurts black coaches everywhere knowing he will be fired. UCLA has wanted to make sure it doesnt make the same mistake ND did. Therefore they have to take it slow. If the Ty situation hadnt happened we wouldnt be having this converstation, KD would be gone.

so understand all that, and chill with the what have you done for me lately crap.

Bruin-Domer @ 10:12 am:

As a long time Bruin Fan, I have every right to be as pissed off as i am right now. A loss to Utah, as ugly as it was, happens from time to time, but not three times in one year.
The loss to Notre Dame on a normal year would be tolerated but not when they are winless. A loss to Washington St. who was winless in the Pac-10 is down right embarassing. There is no reason why this coach should still have a job. This team played without any passion while the team on the other side of the field was jubilant. I sometimes wonder why other schools have so much spirit and pack their home games week in and week out.
The answer is in winning football games. When you win, people show up and pack your house.
We need a coach that will bring back tradition and bring some life into this program.
I do not blame the players, I blame the person who is leading them.
To the players who will read this, I love you guys, but your idiot coach is leading you to another crappy bowl game.

Pedro @ 11:08 am:

Dwight Tardy was disappointed not to be recruited by UCLA, but the Bruins didn’t get beat by a bunch of “country bumbkins from the Northwest” as Jun says -it just feels that way. There are 34 California players on the Wazzu roster - all motivated to beat a California team that probably passed on them too!

Motivation, as we painfully understand, is a huge part of the college game. That probably helps to explain our occasional “big wins” over better teams. It’s hard to motivate top teams when facing a loser to Notre Dame, Utah, and now WSU. They probably failed to respect us, just as the Bruins can’t seem to get up for the bottom of their schedule. This is a terrible cycle that’s two sides of the same coin. We are respected by neither the better teams nor the underdogs.

This has become the basic and simple truth. Don’t get me started on the details - West Coast Offense (Dorrell version), recruiting, game preparation, game coaching, etc.

landry clark @ 11:38 am:

Joe Bruin - I think Dg is bringing the heat upon himself on his own. Everyone kinda looked at DG like he was crazy when he extended KD’s contract. Everyone knows that KD should be fired, except DG, or thats what it seems like. Now DG is being called out for his lack of action. By the way, to fire KD midseason would be a mistake. Let him finish the season out and see what happens with Atlanta coach Bobby Petrino. He is quickly losing control of everything there. I know i am dreaming, but hey at this point dreams are all i have.

TommyBruin @ 11:58 am:

Joe Bruin, you have to be shitting me with this crap: “Race does play a factor….as well it should. Even tho KD the person isnt the right man for the job, it hurts black coaches everywhere knowing he will be fired.”

So keeping him on, seeing him fail week after week, is somehow going to help black coaches? Please explain the logic. If he’s not doing the job he’s getting paid $1 million a year to do, fire his ass. Period.

You’re actually the one being racist, you’re saying there should be different standards for white and black coaches. I say ANY coach that fails as miserably as DUH-rell has, needs to be fired.

And if Guerrero sits and watches while our football program goes down the toilet, he needs to be fired too.

October 29, 2007

Joe Bruin @ 10:40 pm:

Tommy, you are calling the guy DUH-Rell. are we in 3rd grade? i cant respond seriously to you.
