Frank Price: Brian Price Should Be Cleared This Week By NCAA
Brian Price's father, Frank Price, told Brian Dohn of the Daily News that his son should be cleared this week by the NCAA:
Frank Price said he spoke with members of the UCLA football coaching staff and was told all of his son's information was in order.
"I would be really surprised if they didn't make a decision by Wednesday, and I'd be shocked if he wasn't cleared," Frank Price said. "(The NCAA) is supposed to do something this week. It's a matter of reviewing the information and clearing him. I don't see a problem with it."
Well you can't blame a father for wishing for the best, and we are with him on that count. It is the NCAA however and bureaucracies are notoriously slow. But if it does happen this week, Brian Price could see playing time this year. Another interesting note, Brian Dohn lets us know what the hold up was, a technical school where Brian had taken some classes was not accredited by the NCAA:
Frank Price said he spoke with Bob Lopez, UCLA's director of football operations, and was told the technical school Brian took classes at "was accredited," and it was a matter of the paperwork being finalized.
Checking to see if your top recruits school is accredited is a little fact that our administrative-task-loving CEO should have handled. Dorrell is lucky Price did not walk. Anyhow, we hope this gets resolved this week so Brian can join the team.
