Dohn Adamant: UCLA Did NOT Know About Scott’s Prior Convictions
Adamant that his earlier report on UCLA’s prior knowledge of Scott’s record was correct, even though it was contradicted by an LA Times report, Brian Dohn is reporting that he confirmed with “a number of sources” that UCLA did NOT know about disgraced WR coach Eric Scott’s prior arrests and convictions. That again raises serious questions as to Dorrell’s hiring process. Dohn says there was a background check performed that didn’t turn up anything. So, Scott must have filled out an employment application in order to have the background check performed, and on that application Scott obviously must have stated he had no priors. Does that mean Scott LIED to UCLA in his application?? That is a serious charge and if found true he should be fired.
Also, Dorrell had stated publicly that he KNEW Scott had prior incidents. That raises another serious question: What did Dorrell know and when did he know it? In other words, did Dorrell know Scott lied on his application, if in fact he did lie?? There are still serious unanswered questions here. This is still far from over … and Training Camp starts Aug 6. Brian Dohn:
First, and foremost, no UCLA did not know about Eric Scott’s prior arrest record. That is according a number of sources, whose identity I cannot reveal for various reasons. Second, UCLA has a system in place where every full-time hire has a background check done. Yes, one was done on Eric Scott, AD Dan Guerrero said today. But somehow Scott’s prior arrests did not pop up, so the system is going to be evaluated.
