Dorrell: Best Class Ever

This year’s recruiting class, in case anyone was in doubt, is a good class. We picked up some good players, and that is never unexpected. We are UCLA and we have advantages that no other school has. This class was small, so if Dorrell had to go get more players it is pretty much a given that they would not have been as good as the ones we signed, most of whom were committed before last season. Dorrell’s recruiting problems are well documented … he has never been a threat to USC, and has been hurt by Cal and Oregon in the past.

But we have always had athletes that can play. We just don’t have a coach that can get the most out of them on the field or put them in a position to win. Dorrell said last year’s team was his “best ever” and they were his “deepest.” We all know how that turned out. This time, he is saying that this recruiting class is his “best class ever” and that each year “gets better and better.” Too bad our record doesn’t show that. We know that KD has to say something positive … but this is another bad sign that KD is willing something to happen rather than concentrating on making it happen.

We at DD welcome all our new recruits and expect that they will do very well.
