ESPN: Dorrell On Hot Seat
So just after ESPN.com’s Mark Schlabach put UCLA in his pre-season top 25 for 2007, he puts out a Hot Seat list with Dorell’s name on it.
Hot seats. These coaches could have used bowl victories to quiet the critics but didn’t get them: Clemson’s Tommy Bowden, UCLA’s Karl Dorrell, Purdue’s Joe Tiller, Oregon’s Mike Bellotti and Texas A&M’s Dennis Franchione.
Now that it appears safe for even journos to point out the obvious, we hope that if Dan Guerrero doesn’t fire Dorrell before next season that he sees the situation for what it plainly is. Dorrell is not getting it done and with the perfect storm set up for him next season Dorrell has to win the Pac-10 or he is out. Thanks to Mark Schlabach for pointing out that Dorrell is on the hot seat. We put would Dorrell at the top of that list.
