Falcon’s Mora Wants UWub Job: Just One Problem, Someone Has It
If you haven’t heard the audio of Atlanta Falcon’s head coach Jim Mora live interview this morning, you would not believe it. In a major breach of coaching etiquette, Mora tells his interviewer, a former fellow U of Washington player, that he would love to have the UWub job. Just one little issue stands in the way, Ty Willingham has the job. He hasn’t been fired nor is he even rumored to be fired. Mora’s comments have caused quite the stir both in Atlanta and in Washington. As is natural in today’s controlled media environment, Mora quickly gets back on radio interviews and states that he was ‘just joking.’ That is why you have to hear the audio.
There isn’t an ounce of humor or insincerity in his voice as he goes on about wanting the job. In fact he says at one point that he’s serious. There wasn’t much hesitation in his voice whatsoever. He also adds that he would leave Atlanta even if they were in the playoffs for the Husky job. The boys at UDubDish and Dawgman.com aren’t really buying the ‘just kidding’ explanation either. But the comments on the boards have been as you can imagine pretty passionate. Looks like Ty has some added pressure in the coming year, and that Jim Mora probably just got himself canned (although he may have already known that, hence the comments).
